HC08 Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Reference Design Kit
Open Sesame! The HC08 Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Reference Design Kit shows how to develop a radio frequency (RF) based Remote Control / Command Transmission System. It includes several hardware components, C-source code and documentation. For the transmitter side, the Freescale MC68HC908RF2 microcontroller is used. This MCU comes with an integrated UHF module. The transmitter module is housed in a small plastic enclosure. The receiver consists of a receiver module using the single chip superheterodyne receiver IC MC3359x and a "motherboard" with a versatile general-purpose HC08 MCU (MC68HC908GP32). Freescale Reference DesignTo provide an easy starting point to develop a low cost, low component count Remote Keyless Entry System, Freescale provides a complete HC08 RKE Reference Design for the most popular Low Power Device (LPD) bands at 433 and (optionally) 868MHz. Please download the Freescale DRM005 Designer Reference Manual to learn more about the RKE Reference Design. The transmitter project shows how to use the MC68HC908RF2 MCU for a Lithium-cell powered transmitter. The published source code also includes a sample communication protocol. The motherboard project shows how to use a HC908GP32 MCU to control a small MC3359x-based receiver module, that can be plugged onto the motherboard. The software includes a BIOS for the GP32 with LCD device driver, RS232 device driver and command interpreter. Source code for In-system FLASH-programming is also provided to ease parameter storage and firmware updates in user code.
